That lineage is not just marketing: the app knows exactly which parts of TV Time people actually missed, and it rebuilds them first. It ships native apps on iPhone and Android with home-screen widgets on both, which is the kind of polish a web app cannot fully match, and it arrived with a crowd already inside. If what you loved about TV Time was opening an episode page and finding hundreds of reactions waiting, Bingers is the closest thing to that feeling today.

Its centre of gravity is the community. Profiles, comments, GIFs, spoiler-free reviews, polls, emotion votes and favourite-character votes are the point of the product rather than a side panel, plus friend activity, trending titles and personalised recommendations. It is free on both stores with no in-app purchases listed at launch. We are not going to pretend that is a weak offer: for a phone-only viewer who wants the busiest room in the building, Bingers is a very good answer, and being honest about that is the only way the rest of this page is worth reading.

Where TV Track wins

The first difference is where your library exists at all. Bingers is a phone app; bingers.app is a download page, not a web app. TV Track runs in any browser on your laptop, and the same account installs to your home screen on iPhone and Android, with a free native app on Google Play. That matters more than it sounds: marking off a season you binged on the TV, or tidying a watchlist with a real keyboard, is miserable on a 6-inch screen. Your library should be wherever you happen to be.

The second is that your history becomes something. TV Track turns what you have already watched into 86 badges across 11 families, from volume and exploration to emotions, critic and calendar, each with five tiers from Bronze to Prism, feeding XP and a level that shows on your public profile. Nothing about it is busywork you have to start from zero: badges are computed from your existing history, so importing a TV Time export unlocks a collection on the spot, and you can pin your best badge next to your avatar and your comments. Bingers has no badges, XP or levels as of August 2026. Two of our families, Pace and Consistency, deliberately only count what you mark in the app from now on, because an imported history carries its original dates and would fake marathons nobody lived.

The third is that you can leave. TV Track gives you a one-click .zip export of your entire account, CSV plus JSON, re-importable into TV Track itself or anywhere else. Bingers does not currently offer a full export, which is the same position TV Time users were in when the shutdown was announced, and it is exactly why so many histories were nearly lost. We think an app should have to earn you staying, every month, rather than hold your data hostage.

After that it is depth. An automatic "up next" queue that always knows your next unwatched episode. Custom posters per title, editable lists with cover art and drag-and-drop order, rewatch tracking, watch-time and genre statistics, and seven languages, where the Bingers App Store listing lists English only.

And migration is not a coin flip. TV Track imports TV Time, Trakt, Letterboxd, Watchfolio, Refract and its own backup in one drag and drop, keeping real watch dates, ratings and written reviews, asking you to arbitrate only the genuinely ambiguous titles, and re-importing never duplicates. Nothing overwrites your library, so you can merge several apps into one history.

The honest short version: pick Bingers if you are phone-only and want the biggest community and native widgets today; pick TV Track if you want your shows on every screen, a collection worth building, deeper tracking, and the right to walk away with your data. Both are free, so trying both costs you nothing but an evening.
